Iron Man by VencaSeitl Iron Man by VencaSeitl
Hi guys! Yeah, You're right... this piece is in colors! :D I have found some old
Faber Castell color pencils, I've got from my father mabye 10 years ago...
so I decided to draw something...

Robert Downey Jr. aka Tony Stark aka Iron Man from Avengers.

Don't look for details... its a sketch from my sketchbook, that took me about 10h.
A4

PS: You decide if I should try to draw more in colors :) Comments are welcome

I have a question: are you even allowed to draw sth like this? Did the photograph give you permission? And even selling it is even less legal is it? Selling fanart isnt legal at all..i want to do it too, draw Batman or whatever, but im afraid that its not legal

I'll be glad to answer you. Don't be afraid. Everything you draw is only your work. Even if some photograph you draw has a Copyright. Copyright "" means simplified "don't copy me, don't use me without permission, etc." so if you copy it and place it on t-shirts for sale, it's illegal. To draw something is not seen as a copy of something. So if you draw, for example Iron Man, you can sell this as your work. If you want to put it on t-shirts, you can't name it "Iron Man T-shirt",but you can sell it like "T-shirt of VencaSeitl's drawing". But everywhere there are exceptions... like logos, "ideas", etc. For example this Iron Man drawing, you see, is not for sale, it's only an illustration of my work. But you can buy a print here: "Print of VencaSeitl's drawing of Iron Man" :) Anyway there are a lot of more detailed informations about copyrights, feel free to google! :D

thanks for that detailed answer! I have googled a lot...I dont know where you are from, here in Germany the copyright doesnt exist, its more complicated.. here its more the "idea" is not allowed to be copied; eg Iron Man is a ficive character made by Marvel and I need their permission to draw him (that includes fanart). Here you can use pictures and draw from them if you want but you arent allowed to show them to anyone - if you want to do this you need permission of the one who made the picture. The only way is to "manipulate" the picture; so that you can say "I used that picture to inspire me and I did some similar work but it is different that the original". only if your own creation of the work is so much 'in the picture' enough to say it's not a copy you are allowed to publish/sell it. I guess I will do some kind of combination of eg Iron man and Batman; it will be my own then ;)

Yes, more colors I say. :3 ~Question, do you use the Grid Pattern method? Or just by eye? I've yet to try it myself but your drawings are so accurate :flirty:
